Therapeutic Drumming
The benefits of drumming are well documented from celebration to healing and throughout history it has been used for a range of musical and non-musical purposes from Shamanic journeying to its use in many religious rituals. However we are becoming more aware of the impact it has on individuals when used as a way of healing. The drum touches something very primeval within us and in turn allows the internal rhythm to start healing the inner self. Physiologically the drumbeat has an effect on all the cells in our body and our brain, bringing both the left and right side of the brain into synchronisation with each other. The effect of this can bring about profound change on an individual. I work with individuals and groups to find ways of exploring issues that need resolving. It might be an individual exploring loss or a need to raise their self esteem, it could be a team of people who are maybe not working too well together and need to get some ‘team spirit’ in place or it could just be individuals or groups who want to change something in their lives and to do it in a way which is fun, fulfilling and empowering. The possibilities of who might use therapeutic drumming are endless. If you would like to know more about how therapeutic drumming can help you then please contact me and we can discuss your specific requirements.
